Printing Printable Deck of Cards

Printing Printable Deck of Cards
Playing cards can be one of the most enjoyable past times one can engage in. Card games can range from the simple uncomplicated game, to complex games involving strategy and cunning. It is no wonder then that playing card games has become one the most popular pastimes for many people. For some people, however, playing the same old card again and again can prove to be monotonous and downright boring at times. Sometimes, players yearn for something new even in a game they totally enjoy. This is where a printable deck of cards come in.
There are a couple of advantages to using a printable deck of cards as opposed to buying one from the nearest hobby store. First of all, you are given the freedom to choose the design for the card. DIY enthusiasts can fashion their own cards using programs such as MS Paint and PowerPoint, or Adobe Photoshop. For those who don't have the time or the patience to design their own, numerous websites in the internet now offer downloadable designs for free. Designs can range from anything as silly as "Baby" cards (cards with the words baby in the middle in different fonts and colors), to animals, and to classic designs, such as those that can be downloaded from Wikipedia.
All one has to do is download the designs which are usually given as PDF files and print them using the any paper of their choosing. This is then the second advantage of a printable deck of cards. Cheap playing cards are often printed using low quality paper which easily wears down with continuous use. Some even obtain nicks, scratches or folds which become unmistakable marks for identifying cards. With printable cards however, one can choose to use heavy high quality paper that can last longer than ordinary playing cards.
One may also choose to laminate their newly printed playing cards in order to make them more sturdy and durable. This can be done using laminate available in some hobby or any hardware stores. This is done by slowly peeling the laminate backing paper (this helps protect the sticky part of the laminate) from the laminate just enough so that one or two cards can be placed on the exposed part of the laminate. The remaining part of the laminate backing paper can then be peeled off, and the laminate folded over the exposed part with the card in them in order to fully enclose the card. The laminate is then allowed to stick to itself, while making sure no air bubbles form by using pins and a flat-edged ruler. All that's left now is to cut the laminate to within a quarter of an inch away from the nicely sealed edge to make sure that the card remains enclosed in the laminate.
Gone are the days when you settle for the same boring card every single game. With a printable deck of cards, one can have more than one design available to choose from. Depending on the situation one can pick the appropriate design to play with. Cards with funny designs can be used during parties or when playing with kids. Cards with classic, simple designs can be used during serious games between buddies, such as on poker night or when playing for money. After all, using cards with the word "baby" written in them can prove to be distracting.
